In U.S. music history only one artist has achieved this milestone, and that artist is Garth Brooks. Currently with album sales totaling over 116 million, Garth has been given the titles of top-selling solo artist of the century, top artist of the decade, and the fast-selling album artist in RIAA history. He has received every honor the recording industry can present to an artist, from Grammy’s to American Music Awards to People’s Choice Awards…the list goes on and on. “Our industry seems to focus on the numbers and awards. I’ve always been told if you take care of the music, those things will take care of themselves.”

Garth is currently retired from recording and touring and has turned his attention to his family and his children’s charity. Called Teammates For Kids, his foundation has teamed up with some very talented and generous professional baseball, hockey, and football players, whose on-field/on-ice performances determine their donations. Garth is most proud of the fact that one hundred percent of the players’ donations are tripled by the foundation and one hundred percent of the money is given to the children, with the focus on health, education, and inner-city needs.

Garth has received countless honors and has been given many titles, but the titles most fitting would be those of husband, father, friend, and humanitarian.
